Ran to the Wiz after work. One store had no merchendise, the ther had the usual crap. If you want a $10 Sony Clie PEG NZ or T usb cable for $10, nows your chance to get one. Car chargers are also very populor. Essentially, everything BUT the one product I do want, the ac charger: PEGA-AC10. On the plus side, I got home at 10pm. Wait, that's not a plus at all. I should start carrying around a voice recorder, I get all these cool thoughts in my head as I walk around, but when I get to work, I'm totally zombied out. Something about turkey baster vs non turkey baster societies. Along the lines of a humerous anthropolgy spoof to highlight how BS I think a lot of anthropology (vs. sociology) is. Missed about an hour's worth of work trying to help a coworker get her internet groove back on. Which was a litttle sad seeing as how I left work to catch the 7:30pm ferry. Was a bit of nerd fun. Old Toshiba laptop running ... windows 3.11. Had to go to oldversion.com to grab a copy of aol 3.0 and IE 1.0 (data tranfer limited to a floppy disk). Had to wait for it to download the aol browser. But, oddly enough, it reported 300,000 KB of free disk space. Which, now I think about it, doesn't seem quite right. a 386 laptop with 300 megs? Must have been a $5K machine back in the day. And it still runs despite having no y2k fix, which means it was all a big scam all along. On the plus side, my coworker's husband gave me a ride home, so it took just half an hour door to door.
