Sometimes, lemonade does come from lemons. Weekend was something of a blues event. Had to tutor a kid, when I'd have rather taken a nap, because I had to pick up a book from him that I need to return to Barnes and Noble. Realized that despite my love of all things tech, I'm not a very good nerd (php? mySQL? huh?). And then getting even more depressed because I was depressed for not being nerdy enough. Because that what the girls look for in a guy. And then I couldn't get a video (Attack of the Clones. on a Saturday night. alone. and this was the plan to lift my depression. ) because I couldn't find my card, and my name was not in the system. And then, I happenned to notice, after about 10 minutes of staring and wondering, that this girl on the subway bench next to me had the biggest longest whitest shoehorn known to man. And I've got 2 aging parents and 3 aging aunts and uncles (more on the way) to think about. So I asked her how much it cost.

"How much did that cost?" And she told me it was free.

"Um. I got for free at the Parkinsons Unity Walk in Central Park." And then I was a little crestfallen.

"Oh." But then life got pretty cool.

"Do you want it? You can have it? I'm never going to use it." Which, being New York and all, caught me off guard.

"Um. Er. Really?"

"Really, she's never going to use it." She had a friend.

"I just got it because they were giving them away." So, a big shout out to Kristie/Christy (and her friend ... didn't get her name. I wasn't the smoothest of operators at the time.
