So I just blew another 4 hours trying to learn more nerdy stuff, and failing pretty badly. Seems that when I was learning all the shiite about Java and javascript, and Perl 2 years ago the ground had already begun shifting beneath my feet. Shifting all the way back in time to technology I had once crossed and dismissed back in the day. I'm talking about RSS of course. I vaguely remember the stuff back in the days of Netscape. All I remember was it sucking. And now, of course, it's all the rage and I can't figure out how to use or produce it. (Not that I can if I could. I don't have a hosting service that lets me run cgi's.) At the very least I'd like to be able to use the user-end part of it. Subscribing content. Lord help me if I can find a place to do that. Maybe I should use the Google FAQ trick. :: The only good thing to come from all this is that I found another fun site to help me get my nerd on. www.webdevtips.com Oh, and some snarked Latin (Cicero, no less).
