Don't Worry, I Speak Whale!

So I finally got to see
Finding Nemo with the cousins.
They find Nemo.
The ending was a little cheesy, which was to be expected. But it was also a little short, which was odd for a nearly 2 hour movie.
The meat of the movie is about the long hard search for Nemo. And when they find him, we cut to the future where all is good. What about the long hard journey BACK to home? A journey sure to be harder and longer since most means of getting there were one way. They could have ended it there and had plenty of room for a sequel.
Ellen DeGeneres suprisingly stole the show with her usual offbeat (and too subtle for sitcom TV) humor.
Animation of the water, especially the shimmering close shots were very impressive. And except for the mildly weaker ending, the story was good. I especially enjoyed the
6th Sense style flashback near the cheesy end.

Finding the Ridgefield Park Loews, was another adventure in it's own right.
The eldest cousin is learning how to drive. So I let her drive there. She still needs some more practice. Too slow. Too fast. Not very steady or sharp with the turns.
'Course, I forgot that both cousins are fairly useless when it comes to directions.
Every intersection, every other light, became a game of Is-This-The-Right-Way?
. . . . . . . . . .

A great thing about living in the City (that's NYC for you people who live outside the tristate area) is that there's always something going on. Coming back from sleeping over at the cousins' place in Jersey, I passed more then a few bars packed with people.
On a Sunday.
At 11 AM.
What could be going on?
That's when I walk into 5th Ave, smack dab in the middle of the Gay Pride parade.
. . . . . . . . . .
The bad thing about living in the City is that there is
always a parade or a fair.
1/2 an hour to get across the street and get to my subway station.
Grrrrrrrr ...

3 F*cking times I have to edit this G*DD*MN post because my dialup keeps kicking out when I hit the post button. If you're thinking of using the University of Michigan dialup service after you graduate ... DON'T.
