One If By Land, Two If By Sea
Restaurant Week is upon us. Which is a bit of a misnomer, because it runs until Labor Day.

So L and J proposed that we go out and enjoy the night (this was last week). Reservations were made at
One If By Land Two If By Sea for tonight. Ran out of work early, got there a little late after getting lost in the village (as usual). And then, after sipping a little too much wine, food was orderred off the special
Restaurant Week Prix Fixe Menu.
Although the goat cheese potato gnocchi was very good (I couldn't find the potato part, but it was fabulous), and the crem brulie was better then I expected, the lightly smoked rack of pork was not as good as I was hoping for. For starters, it's not actually a rack, but three slices of the pork. The jalapeno orange glaze was just a little too subtle for my tastes. And I didn't quite notice the smoked part of it all. But the carrots were suprisingly juicy and sweet, and the ambiance ...
WOW
Quite the place to have yourself a little weeding proposal (which I think the table behind us with the girl who couldn't keep her dress on were prepping for). Candlelit, roses (a bunch) at every table, the rich atmosphere.
Quite the date place.

But for my modest dinner means, and considering I only had one glass of wine although we openned two bottles, it was probably not worth my $60 (tip included, $300 for 5 people). If we had skipped the wine and just had the food, for a probable $42 per person, I would have said it was worth it to try out a new cool place.
Next time, I think I'll do it with a hottie of my own, instead of two older coworkers and their friends (all women tho).
