For Want of a Sign
I woke up late, despite my best intentions, so half the day was blown. Then I go downstairs to do laundry, and promptly deposit two dollars in quarters before realizing that there is no water running. After hunting down the super, I find out he cut the water to the machines since they also connect to the 6th floor apartment, which happens to be leaking.
Now, the two dollars I'm a little upset about, but the fact that I lose the rest of the day because I have to schlep to the laundromat at 1 pm and fight with people over a drier, that really really steams me. If only there had been some sort of a SIGN, I could have at least not lost an hour trying to fiddle with valves and tracking down the super.
. . . . . . . . . .
Seems like everything is back up and running once again. Which, of course, means that work tomorrow will go forward as scheduled. Which is a bad thing, because the delicate situation will finally come to a head, and sadly I'm smack dab in the middle of it.
Plus, I pretty much suck at my new position. And I wasn't too good at my old one.
