The Morning After
I can think now, but not very far ahead.
For the next few days, I still have employment. Or at least, that's what the boss assures me.
Other options are also appearing, although I get the hint from a certain person that he'd rather I not take those options.
And in the worst case scenario, there's always a retreat into the desert, like was planned back in August.
I have some money in the bank, and a paycheck did just come in.
For the moment, I think I'll just clear out my personal stuff just to be safe.
. . . . . . . . . .
Despite a high speed connection at the library, a P4 2.2ghz chip, and 512 or RAM, it's taking me three hours now just to install all the damn Windows Updates. AND to boot, after having installed Windows XP SP1, bootup is now taking up to four times as long as before.
Leave it to Microsoft to reduce a blazing fast computer to a crippled hobbling pokey POS.
How the hell are people with phone modems and lesser chips supposed to deal with this crap?
. . . . . . . . . .
What's the deal with Tiger Direct's pricing?! Now they're offerring my T24-s505 for $50 less? AND you don't have to put up with the crappy rebate process like I still have to?!
This whole week blows.
