Salt Mining
Once again I'm here at work, far too late for me. Once again I've got nothing done, fooling around all day. It's time for dinner, and instead I've got a bag of mini crunchs And so I'll pack up my bag, and head off across the water. . . . . . . . . . . It's been a while since I last updated. First of all, not too thrilled with the new blogger interface. Actually, I like it a lot, but it seems to change day by day. Haven't yet heard word from Churl about his new Dell Insperion 5000. Sounds like a fun machine. I haven't really had time to tool around on my bad boy, I just get home and collapse into bed, before getting up late for the next day. My honor points in America's Army isn't really going anywhere, but that's pretty much because I can't kill people to save my life (literally). Oh, I forgot the big news, my family came into town over the weekend. An uncle from LA, another uncle and his wife from Washington state. All of the children of Jaebok were there, except of course for the middle aunt from LA, but then that's because her husband and the LA uncle are in the giant feud. We spent all of Sunday just eating and talking and eating and talking. My and Duk spent most of the time lamenting the fact that these big family gatherings used to mean a gaggle of cousins, had now dwindled to the pathetic duo of him and me. And without the traditional Scrabble board, it was a very dull night indeed. Suprisingly, Duk remembers quite a bit from the fuller family gatherings, when he was very little. I suppose they really were happy times. Unfortunately, we did not take the new 1996 Chevy Lumina into the mountains. We all piled into the minivan, which actually did quite well in the hills. But for the drive on the Paliside Parkway to New City, the car handled OK. Was a bit underpowered for a v6, probably the transmission isn't sending all that power through to the wheels, cruise control was terrible at engine braking. My beat up '91 Buick LeSabre Limited had fantastic engine braking on the cruise. At most, on the downhills it rolled 5mph more then the cruise speed, and only in the steep mountains of central Pennsylvania at that. Oh, and I think the mechanic did not put in Dex-cool coolant into the engine, so that can't be a good thing. Look for pictures soon, as I left my camera at home.
