Back Breakers
On Friday we had the carpets cleaned at work. Part of being the office gopher is that I have to clean up after others. Or more specifically, when, after repeated reminders, my co-workers still can't get their crap off the floors, I have to go through and do it for them. Some, like those on maternity leave or those too weak to move the heavy things around, I don't mind. Others, it's more of an annoyance. But all in all, it was not a good day for my back. But backs being what they are, they don't like to complain until long after the event which has injured them. So, on Saterday, as I'm lugging my laptop all around town (for no reason I find out later), it being to twinge just a little. Just enough to let me know it's not happy, but not enough to tell me to lay off. Sunday comes, and considering I woke up late, the laundry room is all tied up. SO, I sling all my clothes into my bag and truck off to the laundromat, and finally my back decides to bring up its troubles. I've pretty much been laid up ever since. I'm OK to go to work (late) or do my Sunday night bowling, but sitting, or being in the cold, or standing is pretty much a chore now. All I can do is get home, eat, and then collapse into a weary achy heap. I sleep on a twin bed. When I turn on my side, I'm at the edge of the bed. but no biggie, I instinctively scooch over back to the middle. I have since discovered that the scooching part involves far more hip action then I had considered before. And hip action is currently the most painful action of all. There is some unconsious clothing adjustment as well. So currently, I'm perched at the edge of my bed, my PJ's all in a mad tangle around me, as I hover for a few brief hours in the zone of no owies. . . . . . . . . . .
