Season My Skillet!
I finally found out what the Mur seasoning a skillet means. Essentially it's burning baking your cast iron skillet with oil. Fry a lifetime's worth of chicken in the pan, and it's seasoned like mad. Which is why grandmom's cast iron skillet is magic, she spent a lifetime frying up stuff with lard, whereas your olive oil crap would take three generations to season properly. Of course, you can now buy Preseasoned skillets from Lodge. Check out the price. $10? I'm very seriously considering buying one myself. . . . . . . . . . . Not all tech support goes well. Aunt got herself a new Dell, and trying to setup Yahoo DSL. She called, and I tried to walk her through the process, but no luck. Some things you just have to be there to do yourself. . . . . . . . . . . . I'm thinking of switching to the American Express Rewards Green Card. Besides the additional $10 annual fee, I'm still trying to figure out what the gotcha part of this is. Looks too good to be true. Of course, I'm still mulling their insane offer to move me up to gold. What would I do with a gold card? How could I even justify a gold card fee? Ahh, but I can dream a little.
