All Quiet
Not much to say today. Got up, went to work, came home late. Didn't really have ... oh wait, I forgot about the digital camera rant.
::
So I'm looking for a digital camera for mom, because she said she wants one. Got to be simple, figure it should be 3 mega pixels, optical zoom is good, and she wants it to be tiny. Me, I want it to cost less then $300. So i figure Canon Digital Elph is the way to go, after all I've heard nothing but good stuff from the two people I know who own one. I check out the shopping sites, and it soon becomes apparent that the price teir isn't going to work. The base PowerShot 310 goes for $170, but no zoom and Compact Flash, not SD. The Powershot Digital Elph SD110 is in the $300 territory. Figure there should be a model inbetween, which is what I'd be buying.
Nope.
Nothing inbetween, and no older models lying about to fill the gap. So, sorry Canon, your stupid pricing strategy just cost you a sale. I'm leaning very heavily towards the Nikon 3500, as it is exactly what I'm looking for, except for the slightly bulkier size, at exactly the right price point: $270.
