Manhatten Equinox

Today is the Manhatten Equinox. What does that mean exactly? It means that at sunrise and sunset, the sun will be exactly at the centerline of every grid street in Manhatten (generally from Houston to 140th St., but practically from 14th to 125th St.). And at sunset/sunrise, both sides of the street will be fully illuminated for a brief time. I suppose it means the official beginning of the unofficial start of summer, Memorial Day. It sounds more impressive then it really was. The sun doesn't really enter the canyon of concrete until the last 10 minutes. The setting sun is usually obscured by traffic, and Jersey. You can take a look for yourself below.
The Manhatten Equinox - 34th Street Posted by Hello I looked directly at it. Doh.
