NetFlix Review Part 1
So I ignored the advise of my budget, and finally signed up for NetFlix. Considering I've seen a total of 5 movies last year, at a total cost of $20. So to be spending $22 a month on movies seems to be pretty silly. Especially considering that I have to have the DVDs sent to work since my mailbox can't accomidate the DVD's without being smushed.
First impressions:
The packaging is flimsier then I was expecting, and a nice bright steal-me red to boot. One disc was scratched into unplayability. And I have some issues with the interface and selection.
That being said, I got my movies the next day after they shipped. Apparently the processing center is in Flushing, NY, within the city limits. So I'll probably run through 12 movies a month. $22 a month/12 movies = $1.83 a movie. Not a bad thing. I just wish I knew why it keeps recommending movies that I've already seen.

Gmail Madness Part 4
So apparently the fact that I still have a Gmail invite, and that I made a public offer to give it away, is now driving me high up on several search results. Considering that the large pool of Blogger users got a free invite, I figured the days of hard to get Gmail invites was over.
A quick search of ebay proves just how wrong I was.
I've already given away an invite to one Aaron Pratt, who is apparently testing out the spam filters ... and finding out they suck. But he didn't use the invite I sent him (Apparently he got another, and I wouldn't be suprised if he asked 20 different people to invite him.), so in 2 weeks that should expire and hopefully I'll get it back. In the meantime, spam him at prattboy@gmail.com.
So what to do with the other invite. I still have to call around my person friends and family to see if they want it. But if not, I suppose I'll be having some sort of referrer auction.
With my luck, gmail will come out of Beta by then. Or more likely, having sold their soul at the IPO, they'll just clutter it up with crap, or start selling user profiles to spammers, to the point where nobody wants it anymore.
