Things I do instead of sleeping
While reading up on the weblogs.com fiasco I came upon an interesting service for those of us who are stuck with atom. Before I get into any of this, I just want to say that I neither understand nor care much for the RSS wars. 9.1 vs 9.2 vs 9.3 vs RSS2. Technoheads with too much time on their hands I say. And although I actually find many of Winer's points on future RSS development very interesting and valid, I've decided to stick with atom because it irks him so. *cough* And because it's all Blogger free will let me have. *cough*
So anyway, for those whose newsreaders can't yet parse atom feeds, I've found a nice little service that'll parse it for you. And as an added bonus, I get little feed usage reports as well (not that I don't need yet another tracking tool to tell me that nobody is reading my site).
If you've got a Blogger free site that you'd like to spit out an XML feed other then atom, check out the easy to use instructions at FeedBurner.com.
::
And for those of you like me, who want to spread the love on atom, some atom feed icons for you to use. Go ahead and download them (PLEASE download them, I don't think my hosting will be happy if I eat much bandwidth). I officially declare these icons (the 4 atom .png icons contained within the following table) in the Public Domain.
