Omissions, Lies, and THAT Guy
Migration Chaos, Day 1 Looking back, it should have seemed obvious that if the server were to switch domains, then we would be locked out of it. But it would have been nice to get a warning in the official step-by-step instructions. Never trust the training person when your technical experience tells you otherwise. If one user switches the domain on a shared workstation, the workstation will be switched for everyone. The migration doesn't care about users, it cares about machines. *shakes fist at shared workstation* Never get too friendly with the linux/mac guy. One day, when you're in charge of the NT network migration, you're going to have to slap him and his computer superiority attitude down. And then you'll feel all bad about yourself even if you were right.
