Wedding Blues

Never have I wanted to just walk out on my job more then this morning. It wasn't that anybody did anything to me, or that work got crazy. It was just the post wedding blues. You know the blues. The part where you get home, sober up, unpack, and then lie awake half the night wondering, "What the Mur went wrong?!" This crappy life with the crappy job and the total lack of significant other?! And it carries over to work. You're at your desk, staring at a pile of paper, and the voice calls from deep within your heart.
This isn't your life. Just walk away. Walk away from it all. Move to Montana and never look back. Run. Run away. Run away NOW!
Needless to say, I didn't get much work done. :: Dani and Sal finally got married. Finally. I've been waiting for this moment for a long long time. And I got to go to the wedding. It was a big affair that will, require many posts to fully cover everything. So expect this week to be nothing but wedding week. Sorry if that isn't your cup of tea. :: Speaking of tea, I spent far less on food then I was expecting. The fact that Dani and Sal provided so many meals figured highly into the equation. Besides the dinner at the wedding, there was also a breakfast brunch the next day which was fully catered courtesy of Dani's dad. I did blow a large chunk of green on the dinner with Helen and Jeff, but technically that was outside of the wedding related spending. That was more of a Helen visits the city sort of event/budget category. So, what, besides the 2am Wurgen's sliced ham and bagel munchie attack, did I end up eating in Ithica?

Dijon Chicken Posted by Hello
First off, there was a slightly overpriced Dijon chicken for dinner Friday night. If you happen to spend the night at the Meadow Court Inn in Ithica, I would not recommend the Royal Court Restaurant. The service was fine, the chicken was tasty, but the food was not the full spread you usually expect. No table bread even.

2 for $3! Mmmmm. Arby's Bacon Cheddar Melt. Posted by Hello
While watching TV late at night, I saw the Arby's 2 for $3 Bacon Cheddar special, and I knew right there and then that I had to have it. Consulting the phone book, I noted that the only Arby's was in Pyramid Mall, right near the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, which is where I wanted to go. It wasn't as tasty as I was hoping, the Cheddar overpowered the taste of the roast beef, but it was still good.

Coffee in a Box! Posted by Hello
Dani's dad brought these for the post-wedding brunch. Everybody was surprised to see these, as was yours truly. Coffee in a box, still piping hot, was quite the magic to see. As one expects from wine in a box, coffee in a box was serviceable but nothing to write home about. But the sheer novelty of it was what made it magic.
