The Cult of Fotologs.net

I'd like to have more of a life then I already have, which shouldn't be too hard as I don't have a life to speak of (So, then ... why do I blog on and on about it? anyways...). Of course, this means having to interact with people, mostly strangers, in an even stranger setting. I, naturally, hate people. Not in any personal way, I don't really hate hate anybody specific. I actually like people, I seek them out constantly (especially if they are pretty). I just can't stand the whole people concept, with their wants and needs and having to try and be witty and interesting. I'm just waiting around for the robots. Back to the story, I have also been looking around at putting more of my thousands (no, really, I have thousands) of my digital pictures up on the internet. I've tried flickr, and my main photoblog is based on Blogger and Hello. I've thought about Gallery, but if I was into self publishing with hosting and whatnot, I'd probably just use MT since there are so many premade templates and tutorials on how to make one both interesting and robust. I had heard a lot about fotolog.net, but it had never really interested me as it seemed: a) for Brazilians b) the photoblog equivalent of LiveJournal. Not all that great, but with fanatically devoted users. I'm also looking to actually meet with some other photobloggers out there, as I happen to live in NYC, which apparently is rich with photobloggers (though no Berkley, CA). Sadly, in meetup, there are no photoblogger grounds. I mistakenly joined the fotolog group, and went last night. Not being part of fotolog really hurt my reputation (well, that and getting toasted off of half a RollingRock). Until the evangelicals came by. And they were nice. VERY nice. Talked my ear off about how great fotolog.net is. It's got tags (so does flickr), it has community (so does photoblogs.net), it has groups (again, so does flickr). But I do have to say I was convinced enough to finally sign up. Mostly because the people I met at the meetup were nice. Very nice. Good people. I just happen to hate people. As you can see from my photo for the night, the most interesting thing I found to take a picture of was a chair I was asked to vacate to that others could more closely examine the temporary gallery. I actually enjoyed myself, joined fotolog.net (they changed the rules on me, now free members can only post ONE upload a day), and will probably go next month. Now if I can only find a way to deal with this whole people thing ...
