Startup of One: Basecamp and Fotothing

I love Flickr. I didn't get Flickr when it first came out. I didn't understand why the technorati soooo loved Flickr. I pretty much ignored Flickr. I now love Flickr. I even paid money ... MONEY ... to get my Flickr groove on. Which isn't to say that I've abandoned Hello or Blogger or Fotolog. It's just that for photos, Flickr is the King. Not that I'm still not looking around, but more on that later. I'm still learning and discovering new things in Flickr. For instance, on the main page when I log in, there's this litle ad for a thing called Basecamp, which is a new web based project management software. On a lark, I decided to try it out (and no, that free offer did NOT have an effect ... OK, maybe it did). It turns out that you can sign up for a free one project account. And personal accounts are pretty cheap. Business wise, I'm thinking of trying to introduce it into the office, as it is relatively cheap for a small business account. But what to use as a test project ... Hmmm.... Why, my testing of Fotothing.com, of course! Rather then just slap up some photos on the site and see how I like it, I've decided to treat the whole process like a self-startup. Project deadlines, to do lists, alpha and beta modes, all the good stuff. Only without the investors or the money or the original idea. But don't take my word for it, checkout my Basecamp Fotolog project page. You can login using the ID: Public, Password: Public
