They Won't Stop Feeding Me! aka I'm Never Flying Domestic Again

It's been a long time since I've done the flight to asia. Or any international travel, for that matter. All I knew was that it was going to be a long flight, and after the hellish experience that cross country travel is, I'd better be prepared for a cattle car experience. Instead, what I got was free wine. I repeat, FREE WINE. It turns out, international travel still harkens back to the golden days of airline service, where how you got to your destination was just as important as getting you to your destination. And in keeping with that tradition, they would not stop bringing out the food and drink, and besides the usual assortment of soda, beer and wine are still on the house. Before we had even reached cruising altitude, the drink cart was already out. And just in case you missed it the first time around, it came around a second time immediately afterwards, just for good measure. I was still trying to polish off my first drink, when the dinner cart came along. We had a choice of chicken or beef. To put this in perspective, I recently flew cross country on American Airlines, New York to Las Vegas. The ONLY food provided were bags of pretzels. When we got stuck in St. Louis due to a snow storm, the flight crew felt bad for us, so they gave us MORE pretzels. It was all they had on board. Whenever I fly Northwest, no matter where, you have to BUY the food, and besides being overpriced it doesn't look very good. The beef, with accompanying salad, three shrimp cocktail side, and requisite slice of chocolate cake was fine. Nothing to write home about, except to say that it was the best feed I've ever had aboard a plane in 10 years. Now I wish I had spent the extra cash and flown Singapore Air, as I hear their food is legendarily good. The shrimp was a nice suprise, however. The bread left much to be desired. What would go well with a meal? Why, more drinks of course! I opted for green tea this time around, as I tend to get sleepy after wine, as I wanted to stay awake the entire flight to reset my circadian clock as quickly as possible (It didn't work, btw). And then it was time for the movie. The movie, of course, was just a pause for us to digest, before the nighttime snack came out. A sandwich and candy bar, followed, of course, by more drinks. And then, at last, they finally stopped feeding us.
