Never Attribute to Malice, What Can Be Ascribed To Incompetence
The nyc.photobloggers.org site is currently in Beta, or something like it, and as such there are still afew kinks in it before I can properly link it up or bookmark it. I've tried addressing two of the ones that irk me, but to mixed results. This is no big deal, I mean this is essentially a hobbyist project, the guys (and I notice it seems to be all guys) running it are doing this in their own spare time. But you can't help but feel a little discouraged when your suggestions get mangled. What got fixed was the part where any attempt at leaving comments was rejected for having "inappropriate content". Now, granted that out of my three attempts two did in fact contain questionable content, still that third one should have been just fine. A bug that got fixed, I'm glad to say, as I am now free to leave highly inappropriate comments anywhere on the site. The problem that got mangled was the link area, where the flickr meetup group was conspicuously absent. I sent the proper link via email, but instead of this: http://photo.meetup.com/333/ What got linked was this: http://fotolog.meetup.com/33/ Which, of course, leads to the Watertown, NY fotolog meetup group. Nice guys, but not quite the flickrati. I was going to send another email to alert them of the error, but instead I did some shots.
