The Post Where I Don't Bitch About Blogger

Unless, of course, Blogger eats this post. Anyway, time for some random thoughts: Pope is dead. I suppose this must be like what it was for children of the Depression when FDR passed away. He'd been the only President they'd known. A crazy old history teacher in high school had once commented that when he was a young boy he thought there were only 3 presidents ever. Washington, Lincoln, and FDR. So, much as I disagree with the JP2, and as disturbed I am by the great personal devotion people display about the man (feels like a cult of personality to me), I sat down and did a small prayer. It's hard not to get all soft and sentimental about the end of an era and the slow death of a man. :: I might, for a change, actually go and see a film at the Tribeca Film Festival. There was an interesting looking documentary about North Korea's Mass Games. I've been interested in seeing something about these really odd and crazy events. Say what you will about dictators, they do come up with some of the best visually stunning propoganda. :: Despite doing nothing this weekend, I've managed to have very little free time. Laundry (of which only half got done), tutoring, and then getting stuck in the scheduling hell that is the subway on weekends doesn't sound like a lot (and really, it shouldn't be), and yet I find myself stumbling home at 10pm, having missed the bowling entirely as well. How do other people manage to have such active lives, and yet keep current on what's on TV too? I just don't get it.
