Brewing
Hot Humid Hot Hazy Hot Hellish This global warming thing is gonna be a bitch to live with one we hit Peak Oil. For those of you keeping score at home, homebrew AC was tested last night, and there are significant design flaws. Firstly being that the metal fan guard grill is too insulated with paint for proper heat transfer. Which is a rather fancy way of saying that it's not really cooling the air. The more serious issue, however, is condensation. There's a LOT of it, and it's dripping all over the fan engine housing. Now, I'm no genius, but water + electricity usually = BAD. Would have been good to find this out and make design changes, oh, I dunno, before the heat wave struck. Doh!
