It's Funny Because It's True

I got a letter today from someone I haven't spoken to in a long long time. It was a very nice thing. Of course, 60% of the said letter involved a new significant other, which is important to them so I don't mind too much. But I do mind a little. Not that it was unexpected. There are some people who are never ever alone, and it's obvious why. They're just good attractive people, and when one comes on the market there's a teeming sea of people willing to jump on that boat. For those of us whom nobody seems to want to jump on, it's very frustrating, but that's just how the world is. The other 40% of the letter was mostly devoted to new job opportunities and moving. Which is where the cartoon I've linked comes into play. Talking about going back into the medical field, which was once my love, just dredges up a whole set of rather unpleasant memories of failure. To my credit, I still don't recommend becoming a lawyer, but the * still applies. Yeah, you have no idea what I'm talking about. Just follow the link. [might be a little slow for dialup]
