I don't know why I draw so much enmity in so many people, but I do. For some, it makes perfect sense, as I often say tactless thoughtless things or do mean inconsiderate things. I'd like to think those people are few in number, for I can't for the life of me figure out what it is that I've done to so offend all the others. I'd appreciate a clue, but none has been forthcoming, as that would apparently involve either communicating with me or acknowledging my existence. And that is the general impression I get, that it's not something I've done, but that I am present at all. I can't tell if it's comtempt or annoyance, the facial expressions are pretty similar for the two, either way, people are polite in that dignified way one treats an uninvited guest that's had the temerity to actually show up. I'm tempted to dismiss them all as unimportant, what should I care about people that irrationally dislike me so, but that's an awful lot of people involved. And so the search for respectability continues.
